You take a regular kid and you expose him to MTV music, blues, rock, metal of all sorts, jazz, broken beat, some jungle and drum and bass.
As he grows up, you add hip-hop and funk, then dubstep, house & techno, then some more jungle. You bind all of this with some musical education and good friends (essential) and this is what you get. He considers himself the sum of all these influences, and you can hear that in his sets (well, minus the MTV music).
Mi-tzu started mixing in 2012 and in 2014 became a member of Freenetik Kru. Since then, he played at various venues and occasional festivals, alongside artists like Randall, Total Science, Big Bud, Scar, Ulterior Motive, Ed:it, Pennygiles and Bredren, to name a few. Until now, the highlight for him was the summer of 2017, when he played at the prestigious Outlook Festival, ‘Europe’s biggest celebration of soundsystem culture’.
His sets are deep and groovy, soulful and energetic, switching between moods and styles. Grateful to what brought him to Drum and Bass, in May 2015 he started the Drumfunk Sessions podcast on Drums.ro online radio. There, he explores broken beats in all forms, having as occasional guests DJs and producers that inspire him the most.
